Meet The Team
I’m Whitney, the heart and hands behind Mountain Mama Magick.
My journey into spirituality didn’t begin with crystal balls or incense smoke, but in the quiet, sacred spaces of my childhood…the kitchen table where prayers were whispered over fresh baked bread and soups, the church pews where saints stood tall, and the warm embrace of Italian American traditions passed down through generations. Catholicism and Italian folk magic shaped the roots of my path- two seemingly opposite forces that, for me, have always danced beautifully together.
I’ve been reading tarot since 2006. What started as a curiosity quickly became a deep, lifelong love and one that led me to not only offer readings but to teach others how to use the cards to connect with their own intuition and healing. Teaching tarot is one of my greatest joys. There’s nothing like watching someone light up when the cards start to speak to them. I became a Reiki practitioner in 2013 and received my Master level certification in 2020. My approach is gentle, ancestral, and layered. I often incorporate sound healing, intuitive guidance, and energy work passed down through my bloodline and spirit guides. For me, healing isn’t just about chakras or energy, it’s about storytelling, remembrance, and reconnection. Like many, my life shifted dramatically during the pandemic. After being laid off, I took a leap of faith. What began with me renting small rooms for Reiki and tarot readings slowly blossomed into a full blown brick and mortar storefront- Mountain Mama Magick!
Today, our shop is not only a sacred space for healing sessions and classes but a curated apothecary full of handmade goods rooted in kitchen witchery, herbal wisdom, and old world traditions. I’m an indoor witch through and through. Hearth and kitchen magick is my heartbeat. The warmth of tea blends brewed with purpose, the comforting scent of spell candles, the quiet power of ancestral prayers over simmer pots, I believe magick is found in the everyday, in the spaces we tend with love. My hope for the future? To continue growing Mountain Mama Magick into a true spiritual community hub. I want to create more opportunities for education, ancestral reverence, and folk magick to flourish, especially for those who may not see their traditions reflected in mainstream spiritual spaces. I believe every spiritual path walked in love is valid, beautiful, and worthy.
Thank you for being here. Whether you come in for a tarot reading, to browse the apothecary, or simply to feel held in sacred space, you are always welcome.
With love and magick, Whitney
